What To Wear For Your Photo Shoot

One of the most frequent questions clients ask me is what they should wear for their photo shoot. There are some things you should think about before you get in front of the camera. Here is a small guide on exactly what you need consider.

I want you to feel comfortable with yourself, so feel free to bring your favourite outfits. Just be careful what colours to choose, you are welcome to wear vibrant colours and patterned clothing. The camera loves colours! Try not to make them overly crazy though (e.g. neon colours, several different patterns) as this can distract the viewer from your face and plain white shirts should only be worn with a jacket or sweater as those are often too bright for the camera, especially on sunny days. If you have clothing that needs to be ironed, then don’t forget to do so as wrinkles can be very prominent in photographs and difficult to edit out.

Make sure you choose colours that match your skin tone when it comes to picking out your outfit. Complimentary colours show up well and give a better overall look to the finished result.

Feel free to bring a couple of outfits to use during the shoot to have some variety of looks.

And last, but not least…

Shed the worries and enjoy the experience! The rest comes natural.
