Dead Kennedys / KOKO

The Dead Kennedys are one of the most popular and important American hardcore punk bands of the late 1970's / early 1980's. The original line up featured Jello Biafra, East Bay Ray, Klaus Flouride, Ted & 6025.Their debut album from 1980 "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables" was awarded a Gold Record in the UK and featured classic singles "California Uber Alles", "Holiday in Cambodia" & "Kill the Poor". The following year the band hit the UK Top 40 with their "Too Drunk to Fuck" single.

Further albums "In God we Trust, Inc" (1981), "Plastic Surgery Disasters" (1982), "Frankenchrist" (1985) established the band as one of the biggest names in the Punk scene. The band split in 1986 just after releasing their last album "Bedtime for Democracy".

To coincide with the release of a box set of the first 7" singles from 1979-1982, the Dead Kennedys are back and performing live featuring original members East Bay Ray, Klaus Flouride, D.H. Peligro & introducing Skip.

I was lucky enough to get to shoot them. Here are my photos of the Dead Kennedys at KOKO (Camden) on 17/08/2014.
